This is one of the cards we will be making in this month's Totally Techniques class. I was having so much fun that I made several versions. They all basically use the same supplies just in different colors.
The Totally Techniques class is held every 3rd Thursday of the month. Call 5 days prior to class to register. Cost is $10 or free with a $35 order. We make two cards and two technique reference sheets each month.
The second card we will be making is just in time for Easter.
All you need to make this cute little Easter basket is the Fancy Favor Box die cut, the Big Shot die cut machine, Designer Paper and ribbon...Word Window punch for tags are optional. The technique is called Paper Piecing and is very simple. Just stamp the chick on white cardstock and stamp just the egg portion on Designer Paper. Cut the egg out with paper snips and attach over the same image stamped on the white cardstock! Simple, fun and easy project for the whole family.

Last week I attended a Direct Sales Retreat in Orlando with my friends, Janet and Deanne. The theme of the event was "Get in the Game" so opening night we were asked to dress up in baseball attire. We all put our Big Shots to work to design the Remarkable Stampers Uniform. Jan made the t-shirts (notice the ruffle at the bottom made using the cupcake wrap from the Perfect Setting die), I made the Build a Bear ball players that are attached to our pennants and Deanne made the black and white Flower Pins on our shirts using the Flower Folds die.
As part of the package, we were treated to a 1/2 day pass at Disneyworld. We had such an awesome time and enjoyed taking fun pictures of each other so I wanted to share some with you.
I realize now that most of the "silly" pictures that I was in are on Jan & Deanne's cameras.
As we walked around Disney, each site that was under construction had these fun quotes from Walt Disney. As our team name is Remarkable Dreambuilders, it was fun to read them all. The funny part was as we were taking pictures of the Dream Builder signs, people kept looking at us clueless as to why we would want pics of Disney quotes. Little did they realize, we were the DREAMBUILDERS!

My friend and upline, Janet Wakeland, recently challenged our team to make an Easter bonnet. She gave us 3 templates and this is the one I choose because there's a little secret to it...the top comes off and there's CHOCOLATE inside!! Anything that involves chocolate is irresistible to me!! I also choose this project to make in my March Stampers Clubs but used the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Paper as pictured below.
In this sample, I used the Crushed Curry ink to dye the embroidered flower.
Other materials used were Crushed Curry Dotted Grosgrain ribbon, Fire Suare brad, two-way glue pen, paper snips and the Circle Scissors Plus (or Coluzzle). You can use the Scallop Circle die cut to cut the brim as well.

February 22 was the first Houseful of Cards Class at my home. Five ladies attended and it was so much fun. I will be having a second class on March 22 at 6:30 pm if there is enough interest and am also offering a Class-in-the-Mail kit. These are just a few of the beautiful projects Shelli Gardner, CEO of Stampin' Up!, brought to the Leadership Conference to share with everyone. As I mentioned in the last post, Shelli loves anything vintage and her work definately portrays that love.
We were all amazed as she explained what she does to create this style of art. In several projects, she used pages out of old books to add to the authenticity of the vintage artwork. She also uses stenciling quite often. I'm sure she was the main influence in having stencils added to our Definately Decorative line of products. The Board Book pictured above was made by one of the presenters at Leadership. She took the lyrics of a song, some very cute pictures of her nieces and nephews and created this adorable keepsake.
In a presentation given by Shelli Gardner, CEO of Stampin' Up, she showed us how she used the bird-shaped Board Book to create this beautiful keepsake gift. Shelli has a very distinct "vintage" style that she uses and it is quite prominent in this personal project. The photo below is another page in the book.
I am always blown away by the projects Shelli brings to the events to share with us. There is always this attention to detail that make her creations so personal and special.

I have just a few more to share with you today....
In the Eggcellent Eggs Kit, you will find 4 sheets of printed die cut flowers, 1 sheet of printed die cut leaves, 4 sheets of printed die cut egg stands 1 sheet of adhesive backed rhinestones and 2 sheets of white rub-ons! All of this for just $9.95!!
If you look closely at the cello bag in the upper photo and the glassine bag in the photo below, you will notice that rub-ons have been used to decorate them! Now how cute and creative is that??? You will also find the new Chocolate Chip Sending Love Epoxy brads added to the candy bag and a Pretty in Pink epoxy brad added to the center of the scallop on the card to the upper right. I love how the "egg stands" are used to add trim to the projects above. The Top Note die was used to create the candy "topper".
In the project below, you can see the new Shades of Spring Designer Paper with it's beautiful shades of purple and yellow. I really like the idea of creating a pocket on the front of this card to add the little tag. The tag was made using the Hugs Love Notes on page 19 of the Occasions Mini catalog. So Cute!
