I was nominated by a good friend and fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Maria Pane, to be a part of this blog hop called the CREATIVE CREW BLOG HOP. (Click on Maria's name to see her blog post.) It has been a long time since I participated in a Blog Hop so I thought it would be fun. I was also asked to share my creative process which I have included below.
In the 11 years that I have been a demonstrator, I have never stopped learning new things. Today's post is exactly that...a new technique using Blendabilities markers. Hope you enjoy the technique, the project and the video below.
Stampin' Up! introduced Blendabilities to our product line in 2014 and it quickly became a best seller. We currently offer 16 color sets (12 of which you can earn as a free gift during Sale-a-Bration 2015). The sets come with 3 markers...a light, medium and dark shade. In today's project, I am using the Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Blendabilities. The colors are a little off in the photo...hopefully, the video will show the true colors. This Blendabilities technique may become one of your favorites...it's so easy! To learn more, see the video below.
1. What are you working on? I am currently working on projects to share with the ladies in my Stampers Clubs, some class ideas for February and March, and with a new grandson joining our family, I am completing a Project Life Album for him.
2. How does your work differ from other’s in your genre? My work is probably very similar to others in my genre because I tend to "case" a lot of other stampers (copy all and selectively edit). I am constantly inspired and challenged by my fellow demonstrators and in awe of what they create so I tend to use their art as a starting point.
3. Why do you create what you do? I create mostly greeting cards because it is a piece of art that can be finished quickly and easily. I love to learn new techniques so I'm always on the lookout for something I've never seen before and then try to figure out how it's made. I enjoy the satisfaction of giving something I've made to someone and seeing the joy it gives them. I have always found creating a means of relaxing and have been a crafter since I was young.
4. How does your creative process work? I am a Google fanatic so when I buy a new stamp set or other item, I usually Google it to see how everyone is using it. I gather up a bunch of ideas, throw them all together in my brain and come up with something I enjoy creating.
