Are you looking to create a quick and fun Valentine treat box? I think I may have just the project for you!
This mini treat box holds one Ghiradelli Chocolate square and is simple to duplicate.
You will need to cut one strip of Real Red cardstock that measures 7" x 3". With the short end of your cardstock at the top of your paper trimmer, score at 1/2" down each long side. With the long end of the cardstock at the top of your cutter, score at 2", 2 1/2", 4 1/2" and 5". Reinforce all score lines with a bone folder.
Cut on the score lines along each side to the first horizontal line. Then trim away one small tab and one large tab on each side as shown in the photo above.
Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (preferably with a heart pattern) that measures 2" x 2".
Use adhesive to attach the Designer Series Paper to the narrow end of the cardstock.
You will need to make a small rectangle in the top of the box. You can free cut this or use a framelit that may work. The one I used is from the At Home framelit dies.
Add a strong adhesive to the two tabs as shown in the photo above. I used Tear & Tape in my sample.
Remove the Tear & Tape and fold the box so that the tabs that have the tape attached are on the outside of the box.
I "fussy cut" the large heart (from retired Designer Series Paper) and used the smallest framelit from the Sweet and Sassy Framelit dies to cut the smallest heart. I pinched them in the center to fold them in half. I added a strip of 4 jewels down the center of the heart.
I put liquid glue on the back of the heart along the fold ONLY. I closed the box lid and inserted the folded heart through the hole. You will need to hold it in place until it dries. Insert the Ghiradelli chocolate and close the lid by pinching the heart closed and inserting it through the hole in the box lid.
And it's done! Make several to share with all your favorite people. Leave them in your mailbox for your postman, pack them in your children's lunch box, leave them with your tip for your restaurant waitress and don't forget your Valentine!
