Happy Valentine's Day

 

It's that time of the year when hearts abound and this card is no exception.  I made this card for my hubby for Valentine's Day.  I know it's not real fancy and frilly but he likes the simple cards the best.  In fact, he told me once when I was trying to make some masculine cards that I shouldn't add ribbon!!  WHAT???  I love our ribbon...I don't think I know how to make a card without it!  I'm hoping by using big, bold, black and white striped ribbon on his card, it will be an "acceptable" masculine choice.

 

I am really enjoying our new "Eat Cake" stamp set (Occasions Mini Catalog) and just laugh at the sayings included in the set.  I like the one I used in the project above..."All you need in life is a friend who has chocolates...I'm that friend".  But my favorite is actually a different stamp in the set that says "I would give up chocolate but I'm no QUITTER!"

Sale-a-Bration Samples

I have been having so much fun playing with my Free Sale-a-Bration items.  I can't make up my mind which free item is my favorite.  Check out the samples below and you'll see why!

  SWEET SUMMER

The card top left is one of my favorites using the Sweet Summer stamp set.  I love this layout and have used it on several of my cards lately.  I just change out the color of the card stock and designer paper, change the main image and voila...a new card!

           

 

 

 

The card to the right is one of the cards we made at this month's Stampers Club.  It uses white craft ink and blender pens to color in the flowers.

 

 

The Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise color combo was really eye catching in this card.  I also had fun stamping matching envelopes to accompany my cards.

I made a few more samples using this stamp set but the pics turned out a bit blurry...I think it may be a little late at night to be working on my blog posts but didn't want to delay any longer showing you some of the free items you can get with a $50 purchase during our Sale-a-Bration promotion.  Don't forget it ends on March 31st.  You can get free sets for hosting a $300 workshop as well so call me to book a date and invite your friends over for some fun!

Would you like to know which free item is the most popular?  Well Punch Bunch has the #1 spot on the charts!  Punch Bunch consists of 5 stamps that coordinate with our punches.  It is available in both wood mount and clear mount.  The card on the left highlights the Small Tag Punch and the "welcome baby" stamp from the set. 

I also love the Tulip Embossing Folder that was used to create the border on this card.  This was a card I received at Leadership Conference through a swap.  (I made a card and gave it to someone who then gave me this card in return.)

 

 

 

Isn't this the cutest little owl ever??  The best part about him is he is so easy to add to your projects because the stamp has a coordinating punch.  The 1" circle punch also matches the "true friend" stamp on this project.  (Sorry it's a little blurry...I told you it was too late to try working on my blog posts!) 

This project is the perfect gift for a teacher, co-worker or friend...it contains a small bottle of hand sanitizer from Bath & Body!  It's quite simple to make too.  Cut a strip of card stock 2" x 11".  Score it at 1/2", 1 1/2", 3 1/2", 4 1/2", 8" and 9".  Punch a 3/4" circle in between the 2nd and 3rd score marks and insert the bottle cap through the hole.  Then wrap the card stock around the bottle and assemble with Sticky Strip.  Embellish using the FREE Punch Bunch stamp set and Designer Paper of your choice.

Stampers Club Christmas Projects

 

This little gift bag was so fun to make.  I used the single Snowglobe stamp, snowflakes from Serene Snowflakes, Top Note Big Shot die, Shimmer Paint mixed with alcohol to spray (doesn't show up well in photo), Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive markers, Dazzling Diamonds, Early Espresso ink and cardstock, Crumb Cake cardstock, and sponges. 

 

 

In this project, I used the Finial Press embossing folder, brayer, Cherry Cobbler ink and cardstock, Very Vanilla cardstock,  Curly Label Big Shot die with the Holiday Windows, small pearl jewel, Chantilly Lace and Deck the Halls Designer Fabric.  On the inside, the card is stamped with Peace on Earth using the Level 2 Hostess exclusive stamp set Peaceful Seasons.   
This project is so fun to make.  It uses the Matchbox Big Shot die, the Snowflake, 3/4" circle and Wide Oval punches.  I stamped and sponged the greeting in Baja Breeze.  The sentiment is from Grateful Greetings and the designs on the center of the snowflakes is from the Delightful Decorations stamp set.  The Designer Paper is Candy Cane and the cardstock is Real Red, Whisper White and Garde Green.  The wrapper was made freehand and trimmed with the Scallop Border punch.  I also added a small jewel to the center of one of the snowflakes.

 This is what the inside of the box looks like.  I thought it would be fun to fill it with different Christmas tags but as you can see, the boxes aren't filled yet. 

The small boxes are made with the just the box portion of the Matchbox die.  The drawer pulls were some retired brads I had but you could use any brad of your choice.

Simply Adorned Charms & Inserts

I just love making the inserts for the Simply Adorned charms.  I have been trying to add one charm insert to each of my events for the past several months so my customers could make a collection of them for their charms.  I love that you can just add your favorite photo the the charms as well.  Here are some of the ones I've been working on lately...

And best of all...here's a photo of my one and only grandbaby.  Now I can keep her close to my heart!

When I'm not wearing the charm on my necklace, I can add it to my miniature Christmas tree as a darling ornament. The charms come in three different sizes and chains can be purchased separately or you can attach it to a chain you already have using the lobster claw attachment.  There are also charm bracelets and bracelet charms as well.  You can find more information on the Simply Adorned jewelry in our 2010-2011 Idea Book & catalog on page 189.

More Christmas Creations

These were some of the fun Christmas Creations I made for a local craft bazaar.  The cello bag to the far left contained 5 small tags.  The photo in the center and the one below were 3 of 4 different tags that were also packaged in a cello bag.  I wanted to use our new tinsel trim on these tags but it didn't arrive in time.

The photo to the far right is a Christmas organizer.  Under the clip was a calendar with "to do" list for each of the remaining months of 2010 and several pages of shopping lists.  It also had a pocket under the lists for coupons.  As of this posting, the clipboards could still be purchased online here.  The item number is #109191 and the price is just $2.49!!  Check for ribbon at reduced prices as well.  I made several of these for personal gifts as well because they are fun and easy to make.

These tags were made using the Candy Cane Designer Paper and Decorative Label Punch from the Holiday Mini catalog, Two Tags Big Shot die, 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, brads and jewels.

The To and From stamp is from Winter Post...one of my favorite stamp sets. 

 The fun stocking stuffer below always gets a laugh so I make plenty of those to give out to my friends.  It describes me to a "tee".

Christmas Creations

I had so much fun doing my Christmas Creations classes this year.  Sometimes I wish Christmas lasted all year so I would have a good excuse to make more Christmas projects!

Here's a few of the items we made from the class on Monday night...

This was the candle holder we made using the Big Shot and chimney flashing!  I love the way the metal flower petals multiply the glow of the candle. 

The Flower Folds die was used to make the flowers and Mini glue dots and Pop Up dots were used to assemble.

The tin was filled with 5 note cards and matching stamped envelopes.  The inside was also decorated with the Always Artichoke cardstock and a matching mini reindeer tag on the inside front cover.  All the cards used a Vintage style.  The reindeer was from Winter Post and the sentiment from Elements of Style.  The fabric wrapper was from the Deck the Halls Designer Fabric series and the large button was from the Deck the Halls Big Designer Button collection.   
  

I think this was my favorite project of the night...easy yet elegant.

I used Lovely Letters and Gold Embossing Powder to create the letters.  I also used the Baroque Motifs stamp set, the Ornament Punch and two size circle punches.  Old Olive and Real Red Craft inks were used to create the design on Very Vanilla cardstock.  The cord was retired product from a few years ago but can be purchased in any major craft store to complete the project.

 

Some of the ladies that attended the class chose to use their last names in place of "BELIEVE".

Days of Gratitude

When I attended the Regional Meeting sponsored by Stampin' Up in Baltimore, Maryland this year, I received the Day of Gratitude stamp set free.  As part of the event, we were given materials to make several projects using this stamp set.  I promised you a few days ago that I would post them and I'm making good on that promise so here they are...

The first was an 8 1/2" x 11" scrapbook page...large photo is not so good but the details came out great...go figure??

       

 

This was a quick and easy card...great when you have a need for a card in a hurry.  Detail on the tag doesn't show up well in this photo but the two tiny pearls on each side of the sentiment really added the bling to make this card special.

The envelope was stamped with a matching image and the card was wrapped with Old Olive 5/8" grosgrain ribbon. 
 

  

This was my favorite make and take of the day.  I love how each small square was stamped with a different image and the paper piercing added texture..even though I added it to the wrong side of the paper...don't tell anyone! 

The colors of cardstock and ink used in these samples are Cajun Craze, Old Olive and More Mustard.

It's Turkey Time!

  The Napkin Ring and coordinating Rosette, the Place Card and the Thank You tag were all made using the Table Setting die (#116819 - pg 208) and the Big Shot die cut machine (#113439 - pg 204).

 

The tag was made using the Day of Gratitude stamp set (#120835 wood or #121148 clear) in the Holiday mini catalog on page 12.  This stamp set includes 7 stamps and is especially ideal for Fall cards but can also be used all year for Thank You cards.  The ink color used is Cajun Craze...beautiful and rich...coordinates well with More Mustard and Old Olive.  The Designer Paper used is Autumn Spice (#120808 - pg 13 Holiday Mini) which is a double sided heavy-weight cardstock making it perfect for creating those beautiful 3-D items.

 

The "thank U" stamp is from the Petal Card Punch Level 2 Hostess Exclusive stamp set found on page 13 of the Idea Book & Catalog.  This set contains 9 small stamps specifically designed to be used with the Petal Card Punch found on page 202.  If you would like to earn this stamp set for free, just give me a call and let's set up a Ladies Night Out.  You invite the friends...I bring the fun!

SNEAK PEAK * Christmas Creations Class #3

A few days ago I promised you a sneak peak of the upcoming Christmas Creations Class (Sept. 29th) so below you will find a bit of a sneak peak but with a twist.  In the first project, I decided to make my sample using retired papers just to get an idea of how easy/difficult it would be for my customers to make.  So in the actual class, your paper will be completely different (much prettier!) because I will be using current Designer Paper from the Christmas Collection in the Idea Book and Catalog.

  

This project will include a Double Pocket Purse and tucked in the pockets are items you/your friend will need this Christmas...a mini book to store your addresses, shopping lists, menu plans and more, postage stamps and even Christmas tags.  You can always add a few personalized items as well but this will be a fun start to a fun project.

One of the other projects will be this beautiful Christmas card (thanks to Robin Merriman for the idea) featuring the Christ Is Born stamp set.  Come and learn how to make this beautiful two-tone poinsettia.
