This is probably the longest post I have ever written but it details the fun I had at the 2012 Stampin' Up Convention. As an attendee, I was challenged to write about all the classes I attended and by doing so would be given the oppportunity to win a free stamp set of my choice so here goes....
If you've been reading my blog over the last few days, you know that I just returned from the Stampin' Up Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah. Yesterday I blogged about my 5 Favorite Things about Convention. One thing I didn't mention was the fun I had listening to Jason Ryan Dorsey, our guest speaker. If you ever get a chance to hear him, don't miss it. He was extremely informative, creative and engaging and has actually helped me understand why I don't always understand my kids!
I also didn't mention in yesterday's blog post that I was able to attend six classes where I learned too many things to mention but I'll tell you about a few.
I attended Carrie Cudney's class titled "I Am Open For Business" where she encouraged us to try new things and shared some fun ideas that several successful demonstrators are doing. Some of her advise was to be patient, to be authentic and to be consistent.
Shannon West taught a class titled "I Am Having Fun". I took this class to learn how to bring more fun to my workshops...because girls just want to have fun!! Right??
My favorite class was "I Am Savvy" where I learned how to make "die for" projects that all of my customers are going to fall in love with. The presentations were made by fellow demonstrators, Meg Wheeler, Dawn Griffith and Laura Milligan and included projects featuring our fabric and some of our newest products. Thanks to Donna Griffith for getting these ladies together for this class.
Pam Morgan presented the class titled "I Am Making Money". Who wouldn't want to take that class?? She helped us to see how we could take advantage of all that Stampin' Up has to offer.
Holly Linford did an excellent job of introducing us to the new My Digital Studio 2 (MDS2) which is an amazing Digital Designing product featuring 75 new features. My favorite new feature is coloring stamp sets several different colors. You have to see this to believe it...call me to set up an appointment to see this program in action and ask me about the FREE 30-day trial. Thanks Holly for your "I Am Digital" class...it was great!
Emily Montoya taught a class titled "I Am Reaching Out" which was very informative. She gave us advise on how to share the fun of Stampin' Up with younger generations. I am looking forward to using this new information!
Another of my favorite classes was titled "I Am Doing Business My Way". Bonnie Thurber introduced us to two demonstrators who each share Stampin' Up with their customers using different formats such as Stampers Clubs and Private Classes. Both of these ladies were so informative.
I currently have two Stampers Club that meet once a month at my home...one daytime and one evening class. If you are local and interested in joining fellow stampers, I do have two openings at the time of this post. I also offer Private Classes in my home or yours. I also offer Designs at your Doorstep which is a long distance club. Let me know you would like more information about the services I offer.
When I joined Stampin' Up nine years ago, I was only interested in the discount given to demonstrators but over time, I couldn't help sharing the opportunity with others. Now I have a team of demonstrators that have joined me and I am always trying to learn how to be a better team leader. With that in mind, I couldn't pass up the class taught by Brian Pilling titled "I am a Leader". In his class, I learned that I need to model behavior that will help make my team successful. He used the following quote to explain..."Example is not the main thing, it is the only thing."
Well hopefully that might help you have a little insight into what Stampin' Up Convention is all about...fun, friends, inspiration, creativity and learning. One thing I have to say before I end my Convention posts is that no words can explain the phenomena called Convention...you have to see it to believe it! Join me next year for the 25th Anniversary and see for yourself!
