More Sale-a-Bration Samples

 

OMG!  I decided to play with the one of the items that you can get free during our Sale-a-Bration promotion...the Designer Series Paper and Quick Accents Pack... and just couldn't stop!  I only used 1/2 of the pack and had made so many cards, I had to take a break.  On the card above, I also used some of the buttons from the Ribbon and Button Pack...another free Sale-a-Bration choice (as well as the all new and so fun Cupcake Punch found in our new Occasions Mini Catalog). The matching "thread" in the buttons is really strips of cardstock!  So much easier than trying to find a needle and thread.

 

I'm not sure if it's the operator or the camera but lately my photos are a bit blurry.  I know you can still get the idea but I'm not liking the results.  Maybe I need a photography lesson or two!

 

 

 

 

 

The sentiments in the birthday card at the top and this card both come from one of my new "favorite" sets called A Word for You. 

I saw the stamp set used on a birthday card on someone else's blog and just had to have it...especially now that we have a cupcake punch that punches a birthday cake with a cherry on top!!

It's Turkey Time!

It's that time of the year when families and friends get ready to gather together and celebrate Thanksgiving.  If you have guests coming to your home this year, you will love what I have planned to help you set your dining room table. 

 

  The Napkin Ring and coordinating Rosette, the Place Card and the Thank You tag were all made using the Table Setting die (#116819 - pg 208) and the Big Shot die cut machine (#113439 - pg 204).

 

The tag was made using the Day of Gratitude stamp set (#120835 wood or #121148 clear) in the Holiday mini catalog on page 12.  This stamp set includes 7 stamps and is especially ideal for Fall cards but can also be used all year for Thank You cards.  The ink color used is Cajun Craze...beautiful and rich...coordinates well with More Mustard and Old Olive.  The Designer Paper used is Autumn Spice (#120808 - pg 13 Holiday Mini) which is a double sided heavy-weight cardstock making it perfect for creating those beautiful 3-D items.

 

The "thank U" stamp is from the Petal Card Punch Level 2 Hostess Exclusive stamp set found on page 13 of the Idea Book & Catalog.  This set contains 9 small stamps specifically designed to be used with the Petal Card Punch found on page 202.  If you would like to earn this stamp set for free, just give me a call and let's set up a Ladies Night Out.  You invite the friends...I bring the fun!

 

The element on the right side of this card is actually the napkin ring folded in half!!  When you untie the ribbon and open the flap, it reveals a special message for the guest.  The punch used on this card is the new Decorative Label punch found on page 25 of the Holiday Mini catalog.

Delightful Duos Chalkboards

One of the classes I recently held in my home was the first class in the Delightful Duos series.  In the Delightful Duos classes, we will be making two of each item...one to keep & one to give away.  In this particular class, we made Decor Element Chalkboards.  

I wanted the girls to be able to use their own creativity so they had a choice of Designer Paper and embellishments to use.  Below are some of the completed projects they created.  The chalk holder at the bottom of the boards is actually a business card holder from Target!   I think they all did an excellent job.

 

   

Celebrations

Try as I might, I am not very good at keeping my blog up to date.  For those who come back here on a regular basis...THANK YOU and please accept my apologies.  You deserve so much more than I seem to be able to give you.  I love blogging but life gets so busy sometimes that blogging falls down my list of things I have to get done.  Today I will try to make up for my absence with some fun ideas for Celebrations!

I was recently invited to a very special party...Becky Armstrong's 13th Birthday Celebration!!  Nine of her friends and family made this celebration so much fun.  This group of girls were delightful and I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them.  The birthday girl is front and center in the photo above. 

 

In this picture, you can see all the girls going around to the different stations to create the first project.

The first project was a "Friend Book" made for the girls to collect autographs of their BFF's.  I remember how much fun I had doing this when I was in Junior High School.  Each friend could write a little something in your book and sign their name.  It made a great keepsake to cherish.

 

In addition to the supplies below, I used one large metal ring and "chipboard" included in the pack of Designer Paper to make the front and back cover.  I applied adhesive using the Anywhere Glue Stick (pg 192 in the Idea Book & Catalog) on the chipboard and then added the Designer Paper before running it through the Big Shot.  If you don't own the Big Shot, be sure to check out my Payment Plan options found HERE.

The girls also made this super cute Mini Post It Note project.  One of my favorite new products in the Occasions Mini Catalog is the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die.  It cuts out 4 different sized embossed butterflies that adds just the right amount of WOW to your projects!

The post it notes inside matched the color of the ribbon.

This was one of the mother's projects...a magnetic pad for keeping track of grocery lists, cards to send for upcoming birthdays, anniversaries, etc. or a simple list of things to do.

The second project was a masculine Valentine card but being Valentine's Day is long gone, I won't post it here.

The stamp set used in this project was Dreams du Jour - page 199 in the IBC.  The paper and ink was Gable Green and Taken with Teal.  They used blender pens and ink to color.

I love participating in challenges so when my upline challenged the team to post cards using the Welcome Neighbor Designer Paper, I had to see what I could come up with.  Here's my entry with a little help from a fellow stamper...thanks Lynn.

Announcing the Open House Blog Tour

BUTTERFLY HOUSE OF CARDS

Do you like Blog Tours?  If so, you are going to LOVE this one!  The Remarkable Open House Blog Tour starts on January 4th and will feature the cutest little card box you've ever imagined.  The Open House Blog Tour was the creation of a fun group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that were gathered at an incentive event at Jan Wakeland's called RAD. 

One of the ladies attending, Jill Hilliard, created a Christmas Cottage and filled it with cards and all of a sudden, everyone got the fever.  Using the same pattern, we started to create dozens of different "houses" including a Wedding Chapel, a Garden Shed and MANY more.

Big Shot Class is a BIG DEAL!

As many of you know, Stampin' Up! and Sizzix have entered into an excited partnership which has resulted in a wonderful product now available to all Stampin' Up! customers...the BIG SHOT!  The Big Shot is a die cut machine but not just any die cut machine...it's the only die cut machine that cuts through 50 different types of materials.

Designer Paper Coordinating Color Chart

When I'm demonstrating a project, I often hear my customers say "I would have never put those two colors together but they look great".  I'm a little "color challenged" but Stampin' Up!
